Godfrey Okoye University, a private university owned by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu has debarred students and staff from wearing indecent dressings such as fixing fingernails, eyelashes, and short skirts among others while on campus.
The management of the university in its quest to instill decency and moral dress codes among the university community warned that it would not tolerate staff and/or students who wear tights and other materials that expose sensitive parts of their bodies to work and/or lectures.
Christian Anieke, vice chancellor of the university made this known while addressing staff and students of the university in a meeting recently.
According to the clergyman, “Such dressings distract other university members. Only black and brown hairs would be allowed on campus.”

He gave the staff and students one month to adjust to the new rules.
The reverend father cum university don reiterated that students would be expected to wear their faculty uniforms from Tuesdays to Fridays since they had abused the liberty to wear cultural attires on Fridays.
In addition, he said: “The exchange of phonographic materials is a taboo in the institution. Such odd things will no longer be allowed in the university.”
Furthermore, Anieke urged the lecturers of the institution to be up and doing in order to be able to cover their lectures schedules as the management of the university is not willing to entertain any excuse in case of disruption of the nation’s academic programmes.
Godfrey Okoye University was founded in 2009 by Christian Anieke, the reverend father cum professor for the Catholic Diocese of Enugu.
The university got its operational licence on November 3, 2009, from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
