Aston Villa appoints Unai Emery as head coach
After Aston Villa football club parted ways with Steven Gerrard on October 20, it has announced former Arsenal and Villarreal former manager Unai Emery as their new coach.
The club announced the decision on Monday in a statement released on their Twitter page.
“Unai will take over from November 1st after his work permit formalities are completed,” Aston Villa tweeted.
The club lauded the former Villarreal manager’s achievement, pointing to his outstanding victory at the 2021 Europa League ffinal over Manchester United, as well as his impressive run to the Champions League’s semi final last season.

“Unai joins from Villarreal, whom he led to Europa League success by beating Manchester United in the final in 2021 as well as the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.”
Unai Emery returns to the Premier League after he left Arsenal for Villarreal in 2019.
